Around the House

The prompt this week for the Saturday Snapshot was around the house. I knew immediately the picture I should use.

Last weekend my sis, cousin and I made THE most AMAZING chocolate chip cookies EVER. They were HUGE and GOOEY and DELICIOUS.

Excellent chocolate chip cookies cause me to SHOUT.

But we ran into a bit of a problem with the BROWN SUGAR. I mean brown sugar.

Sometimes the hubs likes to buy the economy sized stuff. Who doesn't? Anyway. He bought us a HUGE bag of brown sugar. A LONG time ago. Now I use brown sugar sometimes, but not that often.

This is what happens when brown sugar sits in your cupboard for a  LONG time.

You get brown sugar ROCKS.

Along with that big huge rock were lots and LOTS of tiny little rocks. I think it was the sis who had the unfortunate job of trying to break up all the tiny little rocks so that we would have a cup of brown sugar fit to make FANTASTIC chocolate chip cookies with.

It took a long time to break up the tiny rocks.

There were tears shed.

Just kidding.

But when all was said and done, the cookies turned out SO GOOD. Even if there may have been a few sugar rocks here and there. I will be posting the recipe later this week in case you would like a taste of all the AWESOMENESS.

Back with the Saturday Snapshot link up! This pic is from two weekends ago, at our dear friends' wedding. Brian was a groomsman and looking all really good in his grey tux, and I knew we had to take advantage of it and get a pic.

Here's us later that night trying to take a self-timed picture in our kitchen. As you can tell, we're good at that.

Here are a few items of importance: I watered my plant. It is starting to droop a little less. My cat can steal pencils in the wink of an eye. I turn away for one second and there she is at the other side of the house with my pencil. And I like the smell of my arm near my elbow.

I'm linking up for the Saturday Snapshot again! This is a pic of my sister, Hannah, and I when we traveled to Maine last summer for a family reunion. 

I don't remember why we were in that hole thing...we were site seeing at some place, I guess. But this is pretty much one of my favorite pics ever.

We love to go thrifting on Saturday mornings, have coffee dates before church on Sunday mornings, show each other new bands that we have discovered and then enjoy our new musical obsessions together, quote movies we grew up watching together and that our whole family knows by heart, watch funny youtube videos, play rock band, tell jokes, laugh, talk talk talk, all that good sisterly stuff. It's the best and I love it.

Oh the Memories

I decided to join ANOTHER link up! Turns out they are pretty fun. This one is the Saturday Snapshot over at Yellow Songbird. All you have to do is post a fun photo of yourself, and that's it. Sounds easy enough to me!

This picture is from way back in the good old days at Northwestern College, sophmore year. It was Halloween and me and some pals (Dave, Ben, me and Sheena) decided to go trick or treating. We didn't get the best reception from some of the families in the neighborhood (probably because it was after 9pm and we were adult trick or treaters), but you know. We were silly college students who didn't know any better, you can't blame us.
